Artist Statement 2026

I am a multidisciplinary visual artist whose practice spans drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, and textiles. My research-led approach develops through investigations into psychological, scientific, and esoteric domains. I draw on academic and cultural sources, as well as autobiographical experience, to inform my work.

My early work was self-reflective, examining motherhood and the inherited complexities of Irish society by employing the personal as a site of critical inquiry.

My practice has since expanded to encompass anthropology, zoology, and biology, reflecting a transition from autobiographical exploration to broader investigations of human behaviour and collective narratives.

I emphasise recurring elements such as language, colour, form, and line in my work. Material selection is integral, with each choice made for its inherent meaning and both conceptual and physical resonance.

My current research engages with esoteric and spiritual practices and discourses. This inquiry encompasses fringe topics such as astral travel, extrasensory perception, the paranormal, and psychic phenomena, and intersects with mythology, astrophysics, metaphysics, existentialism, philosophy, and psychology.

The themes I am investigating—consciousness, perception, and non-human intelligence—are closely connected to broader contemporary contexts. In an era characterised by rapid technological change, the development of artificial intelligence, global conflict, and renewed post-pandemic interest in spirituality and human connection, questions about unseen dimensions of experience have become increasingly prominent in cultural discourse. My research engages with key writings and theories in consciousness studies, including the work of Robert Monroe, Robert Temple, Dolores Cannon, Dan Winter, and others.
